RAF Grant and Scholarship Guidelines

The Ridgewood Arts Foundation (RAF) funds educational opportunities for students, projects that further a career in the arts or the operating cost for artistic programs and community experiences. Your application should include a statement on how your project relates to our funding goals.

 Application Guidelines and Criteria:

  1. 1. Application will be voted on at The RAF Board of Trustees meeting following the closing date of the application season.

  2. A sample of work, in photo, video or prose form, must be provided via a publicly-accessible URL. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  3. Applicants will be notified of the Trustees’ decision by email. Not all applications will be approved and, if approved, grant amounts are at the discretion of RAF board. The decision of RAF Trustees is final.

  4. Funds must be spent within 12 months of receipt. Remaining funds must be returned to RAF.

  5. RAF reserves the right to use the names of grant/scholarship winners in publicity related releases and on the RAF website.

Internship Description

 Responsibilities of this internship will include but are not limited to:

  • Helping RAF's marketing efforts with posting and monitoring our social media presence currently Facebook and Instagram; working with an RAF trustee on content and creatively posting about once a week (possibly more preceding and post an RAF event); forwarding questions, responses or comments from our social media accounts to the supervising RAF trustee or directly replying as appropriate; monitoring and following new followers. This is a non-paid internship. Duration of internship is negotiable. Estimation of hours per month: 5 - 15 plus 1.5 hours per month for monthly meeting.

  • You will experience exclusive behind-the-scenes peek working as the RHS Teen Representative on the Board of Trustees. Attend monthly 1.5 hour meetings.

  • You will gain professional experience as an assistant to RAF events, for example, fall Gallery Tour, annual Honors Event, Spring Salon.

  • You will have an opportunity to meet professional artists from different areas of expertise (for example, fine art, performing arts, floral design as well as business professionals) and learn about their roles and responsibilities.

  • You will receive free admission to all RAF events during your internship.

  • In addition, perhaps consider planning and facilitating an event for other young adults by collaborating with RHS creative organizations (eg, ARTBeat, New Players).
